The origins of Pebble Beach Golf Links date back to 1919 when it was designed by Jack Neville and Douglas Grant. The course was created with the aim of incorporating as many holes as possible along the scenic Monterey coastline. Over the years, several renowned architects, including H. Chandler Egan and Jack Nicklaus, have made design revisions, ensuring that the course remains one of the most challenging and visually stunning in the world.

Tournaments at Pebble Beach

Pebble Beach has hosted a variety of prestigious tournaments throughout its history. Notable among them is the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, which began in 1947 and continues annually. This tournament features a unique round-robin format, with the final round played at Pebble Beach.

Major Championships

The course has been the site of seven men's major championships, including six U.S. Opens and a PGA Championship. Pebble Beach also hosted its first women's major championship, the 2023 U.S. Women's Open, adding to its legacy as a premier venue for both men’s and women’s golf.
